Any Home Bakers Here?

No baking this weekend, felt weird. No baking till we eat what's in the freezer! Having withdrawals! 😟 But I fed my Frodo starter twice without discarding so I had PLENTY, then put 1/3 cup into a clean jar in the fridge, and with the rest ... I dried it! So now I have plenty as backup in case for any reason my good Frodo fails or dies. Sourdour Starter Security! Will do same with My Precious, the 50% whole wheat starter. She is not quite as active as Frodo but I want a dried backup of her as well.

As you can see, the waffles ( and 2,5 liters) vanilla ice cream went fast and it was a beautiful feast

What the heck are you living on??

Sometimes it is nice to have a little reminder of our good fortunes.

My grandmother told us to take care of our teeth because we wouldn't like wearing dentures. Of course dental care improved a lot since she was born .... in 1899.

Let me say this about not being able to eat.

I have to cut the meat in just about 1/4-inch pieces and with my tongue it's like chewing.

I use a lot of soft food: mashed potatoes, gravy, pudding (cooking kind), soup with soft veggies, ice cream, cheezy bread, and eggs.

You kind of get tired of eating the soft food and not be able to have a steak or pork chop.

I have approximately four more weeks and I should be able to eat anything I want.

I'M JUST WAITING!

Today I fed both my SDS's and put a bunch of my 50% ww one, My Precious, in the food dryer just after it ripened. I also put some of both starters in the freezer. I'm a big believer in having backups. This will also give me some to share! Finally I started a batch to bake tomorrow of the Frodo (white) SDS. It's autolysing in the fridge, tomorrow we bake! :yesss:

Since I will be “out” at least 4 weeks after the 1st hip surgery, I’m going to try that too, I wasn’t aware you could do that !
