So I cut my loaf today ...

... and it is delicious! Confession time: this is the first loaf that I trusted the sourdough starter completely and did not add any commercial yeast. It's my best loaf yet, both in texture and flavor. I feel like a kid that has been paddling around in the shallow end of the pool and has finally gotten brave enough to jump off the board into the deep end!

I would not be able to wait that long :frow:idunno
Wonder how much of a factor that Challenger Bread Pan had in your success.
That bread looks fantastic:thumbsup Crust looks dyno-mite
This idea crossed my mind, for you to consider.
You would be able to use that electric knife with NO DANGER OF CUTTING YOURSELF:hugs

That’s a very good description of the first all sourdough experience. Pretty soon you’ll be popping out pizza crust and burger buns! :clap

Hmmm. My first husband made me a simplified version of that for cutting my bread uniformly by hand, but it wasn't long before I didn't need it. I've always been able to cut my yeast bread very evenly and consistently, but sourdough has a much thicker and crispier crust - plus I have arthritis in my shoulders and hands now. I appreciate your suggestion and will look into it. Thank you!

😄 Thanks! I've already been making pizza crust; in fact we just enjoyed pizza for dinner tonight. I keep crusts in the freezer now. Much better than grocery store versions!
