Any Home Bakers Here?

Bakers good evening one and all!

Tea is ready.

Temperature is in the 70s with predicted this evening.

I travelled from Jacksonville home in a storm at times doing 35 to 45 mph on a 60mph road because I could not see the white lines on the road.

Have a great day!
Glad you made it home OK. :hugs

Good afternoon everyone.

Two days until the Dutch oven cooking contest. I need to start preparing.

I will definitely post pictures of my progress.
Jared,,, :thumbsup I admire your experimentation with the charcoal,, and the formula you came up with.
I have a question.
How do you start your charcoal?? I assume/imagine you place coals on ground, and on top of Dutch oven. Then squirt some charcoal starter, and light them up then. (with Dutch oven in place)
Or do you get them started first,, and then when they are burning,,,,, you allocate them to their spots.

^^Good question. I was wondering about the technique for starting it too.

Here’s how I do it.

I use this type of charcoal, I put the right amount in a charcoal chimney and light it with a lighter. These coals ignite easy. After that, I wait until the coals are white and glowing red in the chimney.

Then I arrange them appropriately on or below the Dutch Oven with a tool that can safely move hot coals.

That’s pretty much it.
