I made peanut butter cookies and I used bread flour instead of the usual APF because I read somewhere that bread flour will give you a chewier cookie. The cookies look cracked like a molasses cookie, and not any chewier. Not happy with the result, mainly I don't like the looks of them partly because the fork marks don't show.

Try ap flour but sub out half a cup of the white flour for whole wheat flour. You can play around with the percentage until you get what you want.

Make sure to not bake the cookies too much.

Thanks! My oven runs cool so I bump it up a few degrees and add a couple minutes on the timer. The cookies don’t look at all too dark/ over cooked.
But I will change what I’m doing next time and see what happens.

I made grownies today. I don't have any applesauce, so I had an idea. I took 6 apples, washed and cored them, and pureed them in the blender. I needed to add about a cup of water to make it work. I used that in place of applesauce, and the grownies turned out fine. I'll keep that in mind, as hubby doesn't like me using up the homemade applesauce... when he remembers that it's there! :gig
