I got good news for everyone. It looks like we’re hosting exchange students again this year. This time, we have one from Armenia and one from Poland.

Just like last time, I’ll be sure to get some authentic recipes to share.

Anyway, I think I’m going to make some Baursak today.

I made yogurt today. The last 3-4 times, I've been disappointed in the results. I changed the brand of yogurt I bought for the starter, I bought a different brand of milk. That didn't help.

This time, I went back to the brands I usually use for both, but bought 1% milk instead of skim.

Ta da! It worked like it used to, a year or more ago. It set up well, and when I dumped it into my mesh bags for draining, it didn't start leaking through the bag; just whey ran out.

I drained it for nearly two hours, and I have a really nice, thick batch of yogurt! And 2 quarts of whey to give to the chickens in their mash snack. :)
