What desserts are you guys making for fourth of July? If I can't think of something more creative, I might just make some sort of mixed berry pie with blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries.

This is the plan for weekend desserts.
Tooooooo HOT to bake in oven.
Also on tap as options for those graham crackers.
Peanut butter, Jelly,(apricot, and strawberry) Nutella, and another fudge concoction I purchased in a jar. (first time)
Now I Cant Wait

Looks like yeast raised with dried fruit, and a hint sweet. (just from observation)

I used candied oranges , dried cherries and apricots

I did put some egg wash on it before baking. It gave it a better texture

Right now I'm in the middle of making a red, white and blue jello mold, which isn't as fancy as most of my holiday sweets but it's basically a requirement for my family.

Not dessert but I'll also be making 2 skillets of this cornbread from Alton Brown. This recipe does really well with mix-ins so one pan will have jalapeños and cheddar added (my favorite) and the other will have sweet corn and paprika (for those who don't like hot peppers)

We're going to have brats on the grill. Dessert will be ice cream, nothing special. Just the two of us, with the dog.

I need to make more dog cookies. But maybe not until the temp is supposed to be under 90° with high humidity.

Had my steak with the peas from the garden. Furball got a little gristle off the former so he got some 4th of July celebratory food as well.
