The Armenian exchange student got me a cook book from Armenia! And it’s in English!

Guys, I need baking advice. Fair warning, this will sound gross.

I was looking through the Armenian cook book I got from the exchange student, and one recipe calls for lamb brain. No joke.

Are brains edible? I never heard of them in a dish.

Never mind, I found the answer. The answer is yes, but they are banned for consumption in the US.

Brains are edible and considered a delicacy.

It was more common to eat brains before Mad Cow Disease.

Don't know but it's not a House Sparrow or a Starling which means it is one of the protected species. Which means that it is illegal to have no matter how good your intentions are.

Merlin says it is a Carolina Wren.

Well, I thought it was a sparrow. Illegal or not, it has no nest, and was not anywhere near a tree or bush. I cannot get a straight answer about the surroundings beyond that.

The legal recourse is to turn it in to a licensed wildlife rehabilitator.

Well, that ain’t happening.
The beagle seems eager to meet it. He is fine with baby guinea pigs, and the poultry were safe. I don’t think

are into playing though.

Pretty much anything that can be cut small enough can be eaten. Some things can be eaten more than once.

Nutritionally, brains are an excellent food source for big brained critters. Providing they don't carry a prion disease.
