Any home brewers?

I know that. But I am out in the country now and I'm having trouble finding it anywhere closeby. I think the closest possibility is a 45 minute drive. Then I really have to search. It's almost as difficult to find an Asian foods store so I can get my stuff to make California rolls.

Most drug stores can get it. You really don't want the brewers yeast that is sold for brewing. It would be quite expensive that way and not helpful to your dog. The stuff sold in the vitamin aisle at pharmacies is normally in tablet form and very inexpensive. The brewer's yeast tablets are made with deactivated yeast and are a good nutritional supplement. The brewer's yeast that you buy for brewing is activated (alive). If you, or your pet eat it, it will attempt to feed and multiply in your intestines and actually rob the body of nutrients. Please do not feed your dog the active live yeast.

ETA: Ingesting even tiny amounts of live brewers yeast can also cause a lot of gas. Trust me on this. DH drinks homemade beer, and watch out if he gets any sediment in the bottom of the bottle.

That's interesting. I hadn't heard that before. Man my mom sprinkled it on the dogs food all the time when I was a kid. I'll do some shopping around online and compare. But I'll be happy to pay a little shipping instead of driving past the next town. I'm sure there's some in town tho.

Ok to add after your edit. LOLOLOL Our dogs sure did fart alot. For some reason I thought the pills were more expensive than they are. Now to get the dogs to eat them. Should be easy. They love the gravy style food so they could go in that and the dogs would suck them up.

brewers yeast vitamins for fleas....? Really? Humm I have three dogs, must try that... how much per pound of dog?

I have been brewing wine fo about 20 years, from scratch (fruit) and kits.... I have 2 carboys full and two pails full, thats not including the 3 scratch wines I have that are about 3 years old in the carboy still.

It does something to make the dogs blood taste bad to the fleas. So at least they aren't getting bitten as much. Between that, flea baths, and a lavender spritz we just may keep the fleas at least at bay.

As for home brewing I have never made beer. But we are real experimental with our cooking so we just might try making beer one day. I find myself liking dark beers, amber ones, and well not the cheaper brews. So we don't drink much beer. Whiskey is a different story at least with the drinking part of it. LOL
