Hello everyone, I am a 21 yr old pet duck keeper and I currently have 5 ducks and 1 drake. 3 of the girls grew up with the drake and my cayuga is very attached to him.

After coming back from holidays 2 months ago, I found that he had taken his daughters feathers all off her neck, chest and under the wing area.

Multiple times an hour he would fly after her as she quacks in distress as he is very light and small (Khaki Campbell) and when he catches her he just bites and rips feathers out. He has been in drake jail for weeks (a shed 10m from the girls where he can see and hear them) and everytime i try to reintroduce with the ducks he grew up with, after a few mins he charges against the fence trying to get to his daughter.

I don't think it is hormones anymore as he does not bother with the other girls except for the cayuga who is the only one who misses him a lot and calls out all day.

I have seen things about melatonin but i live in the uk so it is not available to buy. Others things like increased enrichment but they have a massive garden space and a shed to run about in with a pond and tall grasses and overhanging trees.

Rehoming him would be a last resort as I love them all too much but if it is for the best for my babies I could do it.

Please help me!! Would my cayuga be depressed after losing him?
