Any idea on breed?

Correct!

Neither are Barred Rock or Light Sussex. Looks like you have a Delaware and a Marans.

Oh no, I didn't say any of the chickens were a light sussex. I meant that they did have a light sussex rooster (although my partner now tells me it was a speckled sussex) at the time we got our eggs from them. At that time they only had 2 roosters - a speckled sussex and what you're now telling me is a marans 😊 So the only possible fathers of my two would be a marans or a speckled sussex.

(The picture I attached of all the chickens is a recent one to show the hens they had for help identifying what my two could possibly be - they got more hens and roos *after* we got the eggs from them to incubate)

So, these two came from our neighbour's chickens (we incubated the eggs) and the cockerels they have are a light sussex and a barred plymouth rock. No idea what hens they were from as they have a whole load of different breeds.

I know one of them is clearly mixed, but I was wondering whether they have names?

Looks like a Delaware and A Holland ( Now that particular barred coloring is hard to distinguish it could be a number of breeds like - Barred (Plymouth) rock, Dominique, Maran etc....but the hens in the picture look like Hollands)
-Delawares make great duel purpose breeds, they will lay Jumbo Brown Eggs
They are known to be a friendly, calm, docile bird.
-Hollands also make great duel purpose breed that will lay large White Eggs l. They are also very calm and docile, great foragers and are great mothers. ( now if it is a maran or Plymouth rock or Dominique it will lay brown eggs...i will say if it was a brown egg i would say Dominique because of how light colored the hens are.) What color we're the eggs you incubated? Of course they could be mixed breed if all the hens and roos are kept together 🙂

We don't, but the people we got the eggs from to incubate have all of these...
Most of the barred chickens in this picture, including the rooster, aren’t purebred. You can tell from the silver leakage in their barring. That means your cockerels are mixes of mixes, probably with mostly sussex and barred rock in them.

The eggs these two hatched from were brown, but not jumbo in size. Not sure if that helps.

Thanks all for your feedback. We had no idea what they might be so it's been interesting!

Ok then the one is probably still a Delaware and the other could be a Dominique was one a dark brown or we're they close to the same shade.

Doms have rose combs.
This one has a single comb.
If they are not pure, that explains the Sussex looking like a Delaware, and the Barred Rock having white feet.
I did wonder why the 'Delaware' had white feet.

I just thought Dominique because the hens are more light gray/ silver then barred rocks or marans but they could be a mix if the egg was a dark brown it's probably a maran if not maybe a barred rock or a mix

They're both a mish mash of breeds lol. I can't get over how pretty they are. Especially the black and brown tail feathers on Roadie (white one) 😍
