Looks like a male to me. The comb is very wide and pronounced already and the wattles really big for such a young age.

They're little heart breakers. I've adopted a 'they're all cockerels until proven pullet' policy . . . and I've only been at this since December, lol.

I think she is wrong on the age. Its just too big and fully feathered to be 5 weeks.

6-7 weeks seems like a closer estimated age to me based on feathering.

Agreed. I just got another yesterday I drove 8 hours total for. I went off what she told me 5 weeks when I bought this one and I swear it has to be 2 or 3 weeks!

Do you have other chickens besides these that you got from the same place? I'm asking because if the new ones were with older birds you may want to quarantine them to be one the safe side.

I have a set of babies and then this one baby. But either way she's too little to.go with the older set of babies. Shes staying inside with me for a couple weeks to grow. Just feel terrible as she is alone

You could try to put one or two older chicks with her, just pick the calmer ones.

Edit: It'll be harder to integrate later when they're older and if she's alone.

I just planned to give her 2 weeks to grow a little
