They're little heart breakers. I've adopted a 'they're all cockerels until proven pullet' policy . . . and I've only been at this since December, lol.Why are the roosters always the sweetestit even trills when I hold it
I think she is wrong on the age. Its just too big and fully feathered to be 5 weeks.Looks like a male to me. The comb is very wide and pronounced already and the wattles really big for such a young age.
But very cute nonetheless.
6-7 weeks seems like a closer estimated age to me based on feathering.I think she is wrong on the age. Its just too big and fully feathered to be 5 weeks.
I have a set of babies and then this one baby. But either way she's too little to.go with the older set of babies. Shes staying inside with me for a couple weeks to grow. Just feel terrible as she is aloneDo you have other chickens besides these that you got from the same place? I'm asking because if the new ones were with older birds you may want to quarantine them to be one the safe side.
My older hens are in another run. Just babies together. Then the one baby inside with meDo you have other chickens besides these that you got from the same place? I'm asking because if the new ones were with older birds you may want to quarantine them to be one the safe side.
You could try to put one or two older chicks with her, just pick the calmer ones.My older hens are in another run. Just babies together. Then the one baby inside with me
I just planned to give her 2 weeks to grow a littleYou could try to put one or two older chicks with her, just pick the calmer ones.
Edit: It'll be harder to integrate later when they're older and if she's alone.
