He/she has taken awhile to feather out. About 12 weeks old and still filling in some patches. Also, any idea if hen or roo? We call him Meep Meep.

Pretty! Looks like a hen to me, but would be easier to tell if she were standing up. Hens apparently have more of a level back, whereas roos are higher at the shoulders than at the tail. As far as breed... I don't think I know enough bantam breeds to be able to say!

Legs and feet are not feathered. He has a long neck it seems. This was an attempt at a standing pic, but he just can't stay still. Busy chick.

I may have some on my dslr I can load tomorrow.

are you sure its bantam? it looks rir to me. but i am not real good at this. i just cant think of a red bantam except cochin and they have feathered feet. hmmm...

Pretty sure Meep Meep is a bantam. He/She is very tiny. Here is Meep Meep with others the same age..silkie and cochin bantams.

Pic of Meep Meep with a young standard size leghorn pullet from last night. There is about a week or 2 difference in their age.

Just another pic from a couple weeks ago..

So thinking RIR bantam? Any guesses on male or female?

no guesses here but she is old enough to tell by her hackle feathers around the neck. it they come to a point , roo, if rounded on the tips, hen
