Any Ideas for best home made fly traps???

Flys are out and very irritating. Does anyone have any ideas for homemade fly traps that work the best. Please

I believe a bowl of water and molasses works. However, I have discovered that this works AMAZINGLY:

The only drawback is that it's not very visually appealing, especially if you look on the inside. But it works wonders. I know that's not homemade, but I figured it may be worth a mention.

plastic bottle with 3/8" ( 9 mm) holes drilled in top, add water and a small piece of meat (such as chicken ) , and let it spoil... be warned it will stink

2 liter pop bottle, take off lid, cut top 1/4 off, invert, fill with yucky stuff like ohzark biddies says and watch them drown! I put a rock in mine so it don't tip over in the wind! Hope this helps too!

Rock is a good idea! My chickens tip over the bottle I have near their food dish.

I bought some fly bottle traps from TSC this morning and the bait used in them is putrid egg.. yeah they stink to high heaven. The flys loved it though and within 15minutes of me putting them out I had a dozen in one bottle. It drove the chickens nuts trying to peck at the fly carcasses floating around.
