Any ideas for non wood perches?

Have you tried to just paint the perches? Maybe use some recently cut tree branches. If you have any wooded areas around you, you may look right after a bad storm--they're usually lying around. I'm sure any tree cutter service would give you all you want.

My vote is stick with wood but either paint it or dust it with DE. I go the DE route. Just reapply after rain.
