I have a 5 week old Black Copper Maran/Buff Orpington. He almost looks like a buzzard. I can’t tell if it’s a rooster. Anyone have an idea?

He has feathered out a little too well for what I call the vulture stage. Usually around three weeks when they are starting to feather out but still really rough looking is when I think they look like vultures, especially black chicks. My wife came up with "vulture" when I had a bunch of 3-week-old Black Austalorp pullets lined up on a perch in the brooder. Yours looks smooth compared to them.

To me it looks like a boy. I'm going more by the wattles at five weeks than the comb though the comb looks suspicious. Also the upright posture and heavy legs look like a boy. Don't do anything dramatic yet but I'd give it about 95% chance of a boy.
