I misunderstood too! I thought you meant the parents of these chicks were from McMurray but I reread and understand now!
This chick could be a Black Australorp, Black Minorca, or White Faced Black Spanish! Give it some time to mature out and for body type/earlobe color to become apparent. 10-12 weeks old would be a great time for that!
Thanks so much for your input! Yes sometimes I get a few 25 or so chicks to add to my “pet” yard/free ranging flock that is separate from my hatchery, but the only black birds I raise are silkies so I’m out of my comfort zone with this chick haha.I misunderstood too! McMurray has to be the most tricky hatchery for black chicks just because they carry quite a few. At least at this point it appears she doesn't have yellow skin which narrows down quite a few!
