I have two BRs now 1 yr old, the one hen is a very nervous type, jumps for the slightest thing.
I handled them when they were young but, whereas the one hen will sit and wait for me to pick her up and carry her to whereever I need them to be the other runs away.
She is very jittery and nervous when the other hen goes into the coop to lay and raises a fuss.
I have ordered two more chicks but it will be a long time before I can introduce them since, from reading here they need to be grown before I intoduce them.
What do I do in the meantime?
Could she have a nutritional defieciency? I read that insufficient calcuim may cause nervousness, but they have oyster sheel ad lib, are fed on 16% layer crumbles get small amount of treats, BOSS, lettuce and occational veggies trimmings.
I have tried offering her treats to keep her occupied but nothing works!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
