Any ideas on if I should move my rooster in with my hens?

I have a hen with a broken leg. She has had it forever, I think she got it caught in wire? But, she gets around by hopping. She is in with 8 other hens that don't bother her. I have a rhode island red rooster that is in a cage that I need for new chicks. Will he make my injured hen worse if I put him in with her and the other hens? What should I do??

I imagine he would cause her a lot of pain by mating with her.
