Any ideas the breed or sex?

Do you have other chickens? If not, will you get her the flock she needs? Will you keep her? Are you feeding her proper feed?

If we keep her we will get her a flock. We are feeding her the appropriate feed purchased from the feed store.

So....layer feed or grower/starter feed?
She shouldn’t be on layer u less she’s making eggs because of the excess calcium, FYI.

It does sorta look female to me, but it’s so small that I’m wondering about age. It still peeps. A female would have that comb at 4-5 months, and this bird can’t be much older than 2-3. I can’t place a bet either way.

Grower feed, she isn't laying so we made sure to buy the appropriate feed.

No idea on the age. We found her injured and missing her tail feathers. Thus is how we found her.

I agree. Logically, it would be male, but it just seems so feminine.

I'll give her some more time and update you all. She's already much more active alert and plumper after the 3 days she's been in our care.

They look full sized but shriveled to me.
(Shriveled is an uncomfortable word!)

Here are some more pictures. We're in the process of setting up a more appropriate roost than an chair arm for her but it's a start. We keep her inside a lot since we don't have a friend for her just yet. Want to know for sure the sex before we do.

Great job rescuing her or him! It looks much, much better than it did when you found it.

I lean toward it being a cockerel, but nothing is definite yet. Post back in a few weeks if you still need help determining sex.
