Hi,
I have contacted several chicken “experts” no one knows what is going on with my 5y/o Buff Orpington. She is eating and drinking but had not laid eggs for a few days, normally she lays every 2-3days. There are no yellow lesions inside her mouth, just a series of bumps on the side of her beak. I dont think this is canker; I did try Acidified Copper Sulfate for 3days which did nothing.
The lumps are slightly hard and occasionally bleed. Any thoughts on what this is? I ordered Metronidazole in case it is canker but inside her mouth is clear. She doesnt have signs of Fowl Pox on her comb or inside her mouth.
(The white near her nostril is an antifungal cream I tried)

Can we get some photos of the inside of the beak too?
Under the beak too.
Thanks!

How long has she had the lump?

Any chance she was bitten by something?
Any chance something was wrapped around the beak like a hair, string, etc.?

Cancer does come to mind. I'll tag in @Eggcessive and @azygous

I've marked your photo below. There's an indention in the lump, anything embedded?
Bottom of lump, is that open, a wound, is that where it bleeds from?

Inside of the mouth is clear, no yellow patches or lesions inside her mouth. She bleeds from that crack between the bumps. She has had the lump for about a month.
Not sure about the hair or string, I didnt have to remove anything from her beak. Possibly and injury. It has not responded to VetRx, antifungal creams, I got medication for canker but havent used it yet. I tried wound treatment sprays, ACV in the water and Acidified Copper Sulfate. When I googled the pic on her beak,it came up as cancer too. Hope not!! She is our head hen and the sweetest girl who rules the roost with her quiet demeanor.

There is a thing called poultry face mites. Though this does look like cancer, there's a chance this could be due to parasites. There's a chance you could make this go away by using an anti-parasite treatment such as Ivermectin. Get the 1% solution and place four or five drops on the back of the neck on the exposed skin. (The solution needs to be extracted with a needle syringe, then use it to carefully place the drops.)

In my estimation, this is worth trying.

I am guessing that could be a melanoma, a type of skin cancer. My coon cat has one growing on his lip right now. You could try to email a nearby vet school with pictures.

Thank you!!! I have tried emailing a vet with no response. I also sent it to some chicken experts (a poultry technician and a famous blogger). I tried posting on the vet pages on Facebook and no one answered. I appreciate you all responding. I will try the ivermectin.
