oh and another one hatched this morning. looks like a pied pearl but its still kinda wet and looks a tad lighhter almost a dark tan color instead of the normal pied pearl but yes pics comming soon

I hatched 16 keets in the incubator about 2 weeks ago. I have 24 eggs due to hatch 5/22 and 12 due to hatch 5/27, in the bator. I also have chicken hens setting on 2 dozen guinea eggs. And a guinea hen setting on eggs, not sure what to do with that situation. She is setting on guinea and RIR eggs. She decided to set before I could gather them up. I think I will try to steal either the guinea or RIR eggs and move them to the bator. I don't want her to abandon the nest when the RIR eggs hatch one week earlier than the guinea eggs and then the guinea eggs would die ;o(
I have had alot of calls for keets that I am selling, actually have a waiting list. I think because not many people in this area have keets for sale.

Mine are due June 7th.....This extra week(compared to chickens) is making me even more impatient! These are my first set of Guineas, so I'm naturally nervous.

I have 14 Pearl Gray eggs in the incubator. Hatch date is June 15, so I have a way to go. This is my first hatch, and I'm wondering if I'm doing everything wrong. Probably not, but it sure feels that way. I'm doing my first candling this Friday (the 25th) and I'm trying to contain my dread/enthusiasm. I don't think I'm going to believe any of my eggs will hatch until I see embryo development in the eggs. It's hard to wait.

Here are photos of my chicken-incubator assembly line maternity ward. A broody hen is set as soon as I have a dozen guinea eggs. First hatch was in April, next hatch was last week. The sitting hens are due aprox weekly. When eggs start hatching I move mom-in-the-box to the nursery side. I let moms and keets out when they seem ready to explore. The first mom and her 4 foster-keets are now in the "big house" at night.

OH. MY. GOD. I'm DYING over here looking at these sweet pics!!! Look at those sweet mama hens all lined up! Look at those sweet little keets with their chicken mamas!!!! SO SWEEEETTT!!!

I'm so excited about the guineas I have hatching right now.....they are some eggs that someone gave me, and I know they have some different colors (all I have ever had is pearl gray and lavender). I really want some different colors, and JUST NOW the first two hatched, and they are BOTH something different than pearl gray or lavender

I have no idea what they are, can't wait til they dry off and fluff out so I can get pics and ask for help identifying (ahem, PeepsCA!). Really excited about having some new colors in my flock!
