Any Knitters or Spinners here?

Poor Bob.

Here's some of my spun fiber...

I'm ashamed to say that I'm currently on a "yarn diet"--obviously I have enough to keep me busy knitting, spinning AND sewing for centuries!! For me it's more about the "process" than the "product"--though I sure do love a new pair of socks or a sweater!

Very nice cwdresmker!!! I'll take the golden/peach one at the bottom!

Hey guys.... I was looking on etsy to buy my first spindle. Do I want a top whorl or a bottom whorl? What's the difference? Also, how much does the weight of the spindle matter? I was reading one person who wrote that the lighter spindles will help make a finer thread? I'm not particular with how fine the yarn is. I actually prefer larger, irregular and sluby yarn!

Do any of you fine ladies own/use/have used a knitting machine? I recently became the proud owner of a KnitKing Compuknit IV which is the same as a Brother 940.

I wanna come play at your house.

Knitters, spinners, weavers & seamstresses are ALWAYS welcome at my house!!

Thanks....that one is going to become a shawl...someday!! It's a Merino Silk blend colorized by a friend of mine who is 'THE COLOR GURU'!! Most of my prettiest fiber colorways come from him.

About the spindle...I'm sorry I can't really help with that one. I was taught how to draft on a spindle (it was a top whorl) but then went straight to the wheel.

I ordered my first kit! http://www.etsy.com/transaction/52493239

The
gal who owns that shop is very nice. I looked at photos of her alpacas and got to pick from whoever I chose. They're all different colors, but I picked from two alpacas in particular. I like that I got a little background info on each animal.

I can't wait!!
