I went to the ER twice the day before my doctors appointment. I went in because I was in so much pain that I couldn't wait for the appointment. They were useless. I walked out the first time I went in. Here I am in major pain, feeling like I'm about to stroke out and just put me in a dark room for two hours to make my headache better. No one even stuck their head in to make sure I was still alive. I ended up back in there in the middle of the night, crying and completely unable to handle the pain and the fear. I think that's been the worst part of all this. The foggy brain makes it so hard to deal with all the other symptoms. All I can do is react emotionally and irrationally. My first day of antibiotics seems to have helped with the fog. I'm still hurting, but I can think through it and that's the most important thing.
I'm glad everyone has mostly happy endings here. I think my knee may continue to be an issue, but that was a problem before. I am a little worried about the short course of antibiotics. My doctor is really well versed in Lyme. He trained in Someplace, NY (foggy brain attack). He called the Lyme capitol of the world. I think he knows what he's doing, but I also know I wasn't as bad off when I saw him, because I still had a Toradol shot from the ER in my system. Two hours after I left his office, I was back to being unable to walk without major drama. Maybe I'll give him a call, we'll see.
