I unexpectedly got a Lyonnaise pullet ( :fl ) and cannot find much information about the breed, even on BYC. Anyone out there who has a Lyonnaise?

Here's a so/so photo. I'll get better pics soon.

I don’t have Lyonnaise chickens, but they’re pretty. It’s interesting how closely tied the Breed is with frizzled feathers.
That does really look like a cockerel, and one with leakage.

I found this thread

Greenfire farms used to stock Them. I assume they don’t anymore.

Thanks so much for sharing these links. Lyonnaise don't have a SOP so there's much variation in the breed. That's why I'm uncertain with this one.

They do not have a US standard, but were accepted in (i assume) france, so there likely is a standard for them somewhere. In the few searches i've done since seeing your thread, all of the Lyonnaise chickens i've seen have been black, so I generally assumed the standard goal was to be solid black.

Got a few more links, sorry if i'm doing too much.

This has the quote " Birds have beetle black feathers and grey legs. "

Now we have this website, which is in french so hopefully your browser has a built-in translator.

The standard on the above website:
"
It is a medium-type poultry (1.5 kg for the hen, 2.5 kg for the rooster) which has the particularity of having curly black plumage. Its head is decorated with a beaded crest with many growths which ends in 3 spurs, as well as a small crest whose feathers are turned forwards, especially in the hen. The face is smooth with a white mumps. Tarsi are slate blue with nails preferably white. She is a good layer, the eggs which have a weight of 60 to 65g are white in color.
"

I have 2 juvenile lyonnaise. Not sure of the sex yet. One is frizzled and one is flat. Like alot of lyonnaise, they have different combs. So that isn't much help at the moment. I am really hoping for a mating pair so I can help conserve this breed.
