i have dsl and the wii linked to my wireless network. How instant is instant really ?

It really is instant. You browse through the available movies, hit play and it takes about 20 seconds or less for it to start.

We love it. We have the 2 at a time plan and it takes about 3 days to get the new movies. They have a great selection too.

We have the 3 at a time plan, We love it. I have nothing negative to say about it. Except that DH loves zombie movies, And they have eleventy billion of them!

We chose not to get cable when we moved, but we did sign up for netfix. We stream in on my husbands XBox 360 and even though we are in the middle of nowhere it is super fast. I love that it has a lot of my kids favorite tv shows, so they don't even miss tv, but at the same time they are not exposed to all of the commercials. We also get one movie at a time in the mail. That is good for getting newly released movies.

After no television for 3 years we now have Netflix. LOVE IT!!!! We have the DVD's through the mail and the instant streaming.

My only complaint is if you want to watch a series that is NOT instant view, you have to watch 1 (or 2 or 3)disk(s) with 4 episodes on it at a time. We are FINALLY on season 3 of NCIS!!!! After that Psych...... and Castle.....

Since I have so many TV shows in my 'queue' it is going to be a while before we get to watch movies that are NOT instant streaming.....

I actually JUST cancelled our subscription. For Christmas last year we were given a 6 month trial as a gift.

If you don't have a good internet connection, it scraps the instant viewing. Even on your Wii, it will not work well.

As far as getting dvds in the mail, it was ok most of the time but out of just 6 months I was sent FOUR dvds that were scratched and did not work, taking time out of my trial period to send me a new one. It is fine if you watch ALLOT of movies. Otherwise, it's not worth it. I like Red Box.

I was never a television fan and my husband didn't watch a whole lot so last year we made the decision to eliminate the huge monthly Direct TV bill and just go with Netflix and what we could watch for free on Hulu. I only watch Glee and House anyway and they are both on Hulu. We have the slowest level DSL since that is all that is available here but the instant streaming movies and shows on Netflix, as well as Hulu, play great. We went with the one movie at a time plan - $9 a month and there is only one day in between returning a movie and getting the next one. I will mail a movie one day, get an e-mail that they received it and an e-mail that the new one is on it's way the day after and the next day the movie is here. So one day mailed out from here, one day no movie, next day new movie here. The good thing is we were awful about returning rented movies and sometimes paid huge late fees. Now we keep one as long as we want in case we want to watch it again. We just got Date Night in today and we're watching it tonight. We have turned "movie night" into the highlight of our days.

We watch the online stuff on our pc but do plan to get a WII since we wanted one anyway and so that we can watch everything on our large screen t.v.

We haven't missed regular televison one bit and certainly don't miss the $80 monthly bill.

I highly recommend Netflix and there's really no reason to pay for more than the one movie at a time rate since, at least in our case, there's only one day in between mailing it out and getting the next one in and we live in little one stop sign town in the middle of nowhere and nothing. I really don't know how they do it.
