Like those American Goth kids that try to claim Marilyn Manson is Goth (he isn't metal either).

Shock Rock. that's what he is. and i love him LOL

i dunno what other consider metal.. but i listen to avenge sevenfold, three days grace, skillet, sick puppies, metallica, megadeth, Cradle of filth(great for a bad day LOL), white zombie, rob zombie, mudvayne, alice cooper, ozzy, five finger death punch, Killswitch engage, DISTURBED!!!!! nonpoint, soil, drowning pool, slipknot... gawd i can't remember them all lol. but most of those are upon my faves! lol.​

Shock Rock... well if that isn't the most apt description I don't know what is.

What I'm curious about is who else can come close enough to be put in the same league with him!

Note: There are a few... Beautiful People, Sweet Dreams, Tainted Love, Personal Jesus that I like of his... but then there's many I don't care for... he's not one that I would risk buying a new album from... not like Metallica... pretty well guaranteed that the purchase is worth it with them... with him... there's a chance I might like one song... if that makes any sense?

and tainted love and personal jesus are both covers too. honestly haven't listened to much manson but yeah his version of personal jesus is great.

cradle of filth used to be my favourite housework/cleaning music haha. they've got some classy t-shirts too

as far as that genre of metal goes there's a lot out there but the band ancient have always been a favourite of mine. have been listening to wormwood, the new cd from the acacia strain, a fair bit over the last couple of days, it's worth a listen for some new metal on the heavier side...

Funny you mention that because as I was typing I was thinking that I don't really like any of 'his stuff'... just like how he regurgitates other peoples' stuff.

Of course, same could be said of Tuesday's Gone and Turn The Page... among many others...

I have to admit that i don't care too much for the newer metallica. and id rather not listen to them as apposed to some other bands. LOL.

Silly that's irony for you. You can't abuse yourself that way and then be surprised when your ticker craps out before you hit 50. Precisely why I'm so concerned about my Uncle and BIL... both have done some REALLY dumb stuff in their day... Uncle has slowed down, no drugs in years and AA now.. but he's pretty bad off. BIL... well I'll not open THAT box as I'm trying to stay in a good mood.

Metallica wise... define new? I liked S&M, Load/Reload, Garage Inc... I consider that 'new'... St Anger (that one song) was okay, but the album just has nothing on Black.
