Any Oct 6 hatches? (14 CHICKS TOTAL!!! 3 days early! PICS!!!!!)

I thought most people on here say they only leave their chicks in the incubator until they are mostly dry and fluffed up.

I would think 2 days is max to go without food/water, since thats about how long shipped chicks go after hatching.

I can't be much help though. I have my first set of eggs ever in the incubator due to hatch Oct. 16th. So I will be looking for answers too.

Its possible thats what you were told. I know one of the things people stress on here is to not open the incubator at all during hatching. But then I have seen people talk about moving their hatched chicks to a brooder, so I am not sure.

Maybe make a new thread about it and ask for new opinions.

My October 6 due date hatch is progressing! I had a buff orpington and a dark color frizzle last night. By this morning I have:

1 buff orp
8 mixed frizzles
1 white silkie

5 more pipped frizzles and silkies!

Yaaay! Pics soon -after I get home from work.

I went ahead and moved the little guy out so he could have some food and water. Still no signs of life from the other eggs, except one has a small hole in the side. I hope the chick inside is still alive. I don't know how long the hole has been there.

I hope they hatch soon. The early one is lonely and needs friends!!!

Awww frizzles, I'm jealous

Sometimes I leave mine in there for 2 days but I put an icing lid in there with sparkly huge beads so they don't drown and that gives them a place for water. I also use one for food. The icing lid is small enough that they can scoot over to it and get a drink but not deep enough to drown. I have bb reds due to hatch the 12th, so we will see what happens. Lost all 3 ducks that were due on the 5th. One was deformed and had a very small upper beak, one died after pipping into the air sack and one died sometime between.

Looks like my hatch is finished Fertility was 100% but we had 3 full term eggs that didn't hatch and 1 egg that made it to day 12-13.

13 silkie eggs- 13 chicks (some are EE crosses)
3 EE eggs- 1 white EE, two full term deaths
Trial Rosecomb egg- full term death
Black Australorp- died day 12-13
