Any of you raise and release?

THATS A GOOD POINT.... THE ONLY BARRIER I COULD SEE WOULD BE THE ZOOLOGICAL BARRIER--- MOST ILLNESSES NEED VERY SPECIFIC CONDITIONS TO FLOURISH AND B ECOME STRONG ENOUGH TO CAUSE INFECTION, SO IF THE BIRDS SYSTEM IS DIFFERENT FROM THE CONDITIONS IT REQUIRES THEN IT WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO REPRODUCE AND CAUSE INFECTION. BUT OTHER THAN THAT... I DONT SEE ANY REASON THEY COULDNT PASS ON ILLNESS FROM FREE RANGING.

The pioneers have been raising free range chickens since two hundred years ago----why aren't there vast flocks of wild chickens? Cause everything eats chickens and they are bred stupid---not much left of the wild junglefowl they came from. The only feral chickens I've read about are in urban areas where the predation is minimal.

I know in michigan you can raise and release 12 bobwhites without a permit. It's all about making sure the birds have good food sources, winter protection, and predator control.
