Silvergray is a very dominant gene. You will likely see it in every baby. As you already know, it can manifest itself as silvergray, or it can combine with another color (silver black, or dingy black, for example). Since you have a dove, you are dealing with black and with cinnamon. With the silvergray, you are likely only dealing with silvergray genes being passed on from that parent unless it carries cream, which is easily hidden. More than likely, you will end up with silvergrays, silver blacks, and possibly blondes. Blonde is absolutely beautiful. I have only been lucky enough to produce two of them. Silvergray is a fun gene, but it can also make identifying colors a real challenge when they start to combine. Hold on to your silvergray genes. There are not many of us out there with them, it seems, although that is quite odd since it is such a dominant gene. As far as I know, there are only three of us in the southeast actively working with it, and all of our animals are derived from one ivory that was brought down from Dave at Chesapeake up in MD. Who did your stock come from? I'm excited to see another hamster person on here!
