I remember you being forced to sell all your chickens recently because you we're not allowed to have them

Has that changed?

I thought I remembered a post from him/her asking for help deciding which breeds to keep because he had over bought this summer.

Yes i did want to down size on the wild type birds ! But i can never have enough chickens
And that has nothing to do with this post ! Thanks though

And lurky i was forced to get rid of birds but in my town you can have anything in your yard even if it isnt llegal until some one complains . My complaining nieghbors are elderly and have gotten sick and no longer can venture out into their yards . So now no more complaining means me keeping my birds !

I have contacted jody and her hens have stopped laying until spring !

Nothing worse than people that try to take away other peoples chickens.

BTW.... are you close to westfield? There is a heated water bowl on there on Craigslist for $10

I just came across this thread. A warning about Araucana Eggs. They are probably the most difficult breed to get chicks from by buying hatching eggs. Fertility in Rumpless birds is always iffy, and the lethal gene from the breeding of tufted birds causes a lot of dead in the shell. I recommend trying to buy chicks. It will save a lot of frustration. I do though always have a few hatching eggs available at all times.

That's an excellent point about araucana! In the case with petpaw, I am not sure what happened with the eggs as it is quite unusual to get no growth from my eggs. I offered a refund for the egg cost or replacement eggs for just the cost of shipping in spring which she greatfully accepted.

I agree, that chicks are generally the better way to go with araucana though.
