Any One Know What This Could Be?

She had a normal egg yesterday and she only started this behavior today. Her breast bone seems normal and she was eating yesterday so I don't think she has lost much weight yet. I do not have a vet around here that I know of that treats chickens so as I said before, I am using common sense and hope she will pull through this. I will see what happens tomorrow morning especially with her egg production. I have been on my computer all day off on and thought that she may have had egg peritonitis but the clear fluid really puzzles me. It is more like when you have diarrhea and finally have clear water coming out. That is what made me think that an electrolyte might help. Going to give her another dose with syringe soon.

The other birds are fine. It has been raining here every day and it is possible that something she ate was wet but their feeder is inside so I don't know of any wet food. I did put something in their water quite a while back for worms but only once and it was probably in the fall. I'll try the soft foods. They love canned cat food which I mix with warm oatmeal maybe once every 2 weeks and they go crazy. I use one small can for 10 birds as I know some people do not approve of cat food. Thanks for all your suggestions

Well, I truly think she is dying. I brought her in, gave her some more fluids tried to get her to eat. She gave one peck at some oatmeal and that was all. I held her for a long time and all she wanted to do was sleep. When I put her in the crate, she just stood where I put her and when I came back a few minutes later ,she was still standing in the same place. I pushed her down and put in the water and some chick crumbs and some dry oatmeal. She turned down the cat food and that was surprising. She has not squirted lately and has no other symptoms besides lethargy. So strange.......

Hi Chicklette 1, does she free range? just wondering if she could have eaten something poisonious? you could try giving her some molasses mixed in water. I'll go see if I can find the info. but do you think she could have eaten something like that?

Hi Miss Lydia, no she does not free range. I expected to find her gone this morning but much to my happy surprise, she was standing up in the crate and looking alert. I returned her to the flock and she went to the water and drank a little and seemed to be much like her old self. I checked her crate for droppings and found a fairly large amount of mixed media. It was solid this time and there was a thin white layer of what looked similar to cooked egg white.
That seemed to be the only really distinctive part of it. Couldn't take a photo because of too many shavings attached to it. I'm hoping that whatever it was has passed through but we will see as the day wears on. If they have an internal broken egg, can they just pass it??
