I tend to ignore chick down but my guess is the e-allele they are based on.
The dark ones could be Birchen-based E^R (or extended black E) and the light ones could be partridge-based e^b, maybe heterozygote (mixed).

Also Columbian Co and Dark brown Db could have effect in this stage.
My silver spangled hamburghs have a similar layout as chicks.
They are Birchen based plus Db (and more).
 
So do you think that they still might end up being blue or black when full grown. Sorry, not much when it comes to genetics, still learning.

Incidently, I also looked at your website and I find them all beautiful, especially the new color variations!
