I kind of have the winter blues too. The kids had their 10th snow day yesterday (someone finally counted for me), so now we're in Saturday school mode, and they're calling for more snow this week and next. Plus the wind chill today is -5. And I'm kind of sad now that the babies have moved out to the coop. And they won't come out because it's too cold, so I can barely even see them.

, I eventually had to let her stay out cause I was already late for work. Hopefully she hangs around the cage until I get home or sticks around the rooster for protection. I heard her clucking before I left so I hope today is not her first egg day...

OH and yesterday marked my 99 eggs collected so far

. Today I will be over 100. Can't wait to post my 100th egg!!!

My weather is rainy and windy...but If I owned a private jet I would fly everyone down out of the cold and snow to enjoy a little sun if it came out while the girls hang out in the yard. We could all talk chicken...

We still haven't gotten a perfect 4 egg day. Maybe I can count this as two eggs. It's certainly big enough!
 
Wow, foote! Not only is it big, but its such a pretty shade!

My first 3 egg day, hooray! Now only 2 more girls need to get the hint.

Welcome to everyone new to the thread. I've had some sick kiddos, taking them to the Dr. tomorrow, so hopefully get this fever thing dealt with. Wouldn't be so bad, but my boy hallucinates and shakes when it goes higher than 102.

My husband said there was an AWFUL lot of chatter in the coop today. No wonder! No limping hens either, thank goodness.

My friend that came over today asked me the same thing. Believe it or not, the eggs come out just like that. I usually brush any lingering pine shavings off, but that's about it. No washing, of course, because we don't store them in the fridge.

I guess I just have really clean chickens...lol. I hardly ever find any poop in the nesting boxes. Now if only I could get them to poop in one corner of the yard, I'll be set.
