Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

Woot! Got Egg #11 and 12 today. By the looks of the color of the eggs, the first 9 eggs are from one pullet, and the 3 additional pinkish ones from another pullet the last 3 days. There's still another 7 hours for more.

Sure am smiling in Sydney. Such fun! Love catching up with this thread each day and all the great stories.

Just the one egg so far this morning - but three of them are on late mornings/afternoon laying.

I am having my first break from home this weekend since getting my chickens and I am nervous for my girls when I shouldn't be. We are only going away camping for two nights. We have a friend who lives in a small apartment and he always jumps at the chance to come stay at our house with the garden and he gets on well with our cat, Spike too. He is happy to add chicken duties to his list and, luckily, he has had chickens himself so they are all in good hands. Still, I am writing out their (my) normal routine and it does show how much I pamper them. Who cares!?! They deserve it!

We have a slight autumnal chill to the air this morning. Still in shorts but........ All you Spring watchers must start seeing more signs soon.

All the best
Katrina

My girls are feeling better, not 100% but they are getting there. Today I got 7 eggs for the first time ever!!!! Sucks that I can't eat them because of the antibiotics. Got to wait 2 weeks before we can start using the eggs again. I did notice bigger eggs and also these babies are hard. I threw them in the yard on dirt i mean a good 10 to 15 feet away from me and they didn't break, I was shocked. So I guess my girls are doing good in that department.

I am on day 4 of my homemade incubator. Most of the eggs are shipped eggs and the hatch rate on those are pretty low according to what I have read on here. I used one from my hens becasue the marans eggs are pretty dark and hard to candle compared to a lighter egg. If I don't succeed on this batch I will try again with this incubator, will be great if I have 2 incubators... lol

I see all the wonderful reports of the numbers of eggs and while I am so excited for y'all...I'm feeling left out. Is there any one left waiting for eggs???? I feel like the last one chosen for PE here....
