I always go for the better layers and just love having the assorted colored eggs

Rose comb is a Dominique, Barred rock has the single comb. Some say thats pretty much the difference Is this normal for Goblin to not have tail feathers? I see Ghost is really getting a great look going on

Oh yeah! I didn't notice before that Goblin is rumpless! She must have some Araucana blood...that's awesome. I had a rumpless splash Marans. I loved it...so strange looking.

Oh gosh, I've witnessed when things take off on a thread like that...it isn't pretty! That is why I am so very thankful for our little thread of just feel good, egg, chicken sharing people. Thank you all guys for making this such a fun place to come! MB

Oh my! I love it! They are sooooo cute! Will that do anything with the color of her eggs? I can't wait to see them!

Araucanas lay blue eggs, but it's hard to say with an EE. I have heard that EEs bred from Aracaunas lay more colorful eggs. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Wow, if I had a fence like yours, the only predator I'd have to worry about is hawks. Very pretty. Your BA will come through with the prettiest little egg. Not all of mine are laying or squatting and none of them sing.

Loving your girls all over the backyard furniture -- looks just like at my house LOL. Is that an EE I see on the chair? She's really pretty. Thanks all for the congrats and well wishes...it is so nice to share with people who get excited with you...most people just smile and say things like oh ant that nice....chicken people are the best!

Yes.. I'm also egg-cited to see what Goblin lays. I would love some more EE or Amercaunas... The little one that I had got from the feed store did not make it. So I went back for more BOs. They are so cute.
LOVE that fence Kelly. I so wish for something like that. But around an 1.5 acres would be a lot of money. Doesn't matter... Some day I did a lot of re-enforcing of my aviary. It was more then past time for the girls to stay out overnight. I know... I am spoiling my girls. But after that dog that killed so many of them.... and I have still seen her... It was hard to leave them outside overnight. So I have checked my perimeter fence (fixed all the problems) and ran extra hot wire from the horse's area and attached it around my aviary. I feel like we are a little more safe. Though I do check them a couple times a night and first thing when the sun comes up. I still want a high powered pellet gun and a .22 riffle.
Glad everyone liked the flowers... these are some more flowers of a different kind Buttercup, Daffodil and Daisy. With my 4 week old RIRs Ruby and Rose. The RIR are a little young to go outside... but they fallow me so much that I though a few mins would be fun. They did not think so... So I took them back in early.


Yes MB... Amber is a gold star. Your stories about how well yours lay has me very egg-cited to see what she will do. I was hopping for an early start from her but she is not ready. But that is OK... it was my birthday on March 7Th (I turned 43 yrs old... how did that happen? and I thought that would be a good b-day gift. But I did get two eggs from my other girls and that is more then gift enough. When did your start to lay? Yours is a gold comet right?
