Oh how sad... I mean the poor things that need splints and cardboard shoes. I am just blown away that you can do something for them. I wish them well... And I understand about the green chick. It is great that you can watch the joy of a hatch and let them go. I am afraid to do this... I would want to keep them.Hey guys!
Been busy over here with the new hatch. Catsol, the little green chick is super cute, but I'll probably sell it. I had planned on selling the entire hatch, but I had 2 late hatchers on day 23, and both chicks have curled toes and spraddle leg. So I'm now busy making splits and cardboard shoes, plus chick rehab every few hours. It's cute but frustrating. I'm not going to sell the disabled chicks. I'm not sure if they'll make it, but if they do, I'll be keeping them. I've had chicks recover from this before, but it seems like the ones who do recover, show improvement in the first day?
I'm basically a pediatric chicken nurse this week.
I am home a day and I can still feel things moving like on a ship.... I don't know if I will do that again soon... I am very lucky that it is spring break from work. I did get a little repair work done outside. If I keep moving I am better. I am sure that all will be well soon. Vacations go by so quick.
Xshoshin your collection of eggs looks great! Funny... I only get blue eggs and I am egg-cited to get a brown egg... How funny. Still watching my Amber... She did check out the nesting boxes. Her wattle & comb are getting bigger.
