Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

Xshoshin... NICe! That will be great for eggs... is it weird that the hen looks delicious? but it's chocolate; yum...
Mellabella... again delicious looking ... ! And the eggs in that basket look great. I have an egg basket that I got at a ren faire... I will have to get a better pic of it to show you all.
Sausanali ... That is so funny. I have only had chickens since July of last year but I don't think I have yet dreamed about them. What kind of chickens do you have? How old are they?

Wow you beat me by 7 and I have 8 girls laying.  Good for you.  Be careful for April, my girls might blow yours out of the water as they're now old enough to go to the prom.  I know, not a competition, but fun just the same.
lol we're going away for 3 weeks and my last 2 are getting close :( im going to miss their 1st eggs. but then i'll have 8 laying too. Bring it! lmao!

Needed this yesterday, but it's still worth posting!

Hoping everyone enjoyed their weekend however you chose to spend it.
Great to hear from wonderful Paris and can't wait to hear about the trip.
Great to hear everyone's news on new eggs and egg totals. I am getting
more hooked than I ever imagined. Our 3 girls total for their first month of
laying is 39. Our EE only layed 3 of those. The BA took one day off and
the RIR hasn't missed one day. It's so interesting to me that the RIR is
the smaller of the 3 and lays the biggest egg. They didn't start until the 2nd week. Hoping
the EE starts pulling her weight soon. She is great to look at though and has
wonderful personality. Pretty sure I would not get another if she continues to lag this
far behind the other two. Regardless, She makes an entertaining pet.

By the way - I weighed our meaties today. I have had them for one week
and they weigh .25 lb. Believe it or not they look like they almost doubled
in size from last week and are feathering out and sprouting tail feathers
already. I'm in shock. I didn't notice until I looked at the video I took of
them last week and compared to today. Have been trying not to handle them
much so as not to get attached to the boogers.
Tonight had to give one a butt bath and found myself talking to it and trying
to keep it calm. wrapped it in a clean rag & held it while it dried off so it wouldn't
get cold. It stopped chirping and fell asleep in my hand. (Houston, we may
have a problem

My RIR is my best layer so far too and she is also my smallest, scrawny looking girl. LOL

My EE is doing pretty good, but I still think it's funny that my cute little silkie started it all! From the day they started laying, here's the counts/ratios...

My approximate 3 week total during March is 40 eggs from 5 girls!

Silkie - 13 eggs in 23 days
EE - 12 eggs in 20 days (laid 2 in one day!)
RIR - 7 eggs in 8 days (I think hers are also the biggest)
BR - 8 eggs in 12 days between the 2 of them

Can't wait now until all my chicks grow up and I see how they all do!
