Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

I'm super happy today my 5 month and 15 day old pullet Penelope laid her first egg it was 3/4 the size of a store bought egg but I'm proud. It was unexpected being its late fall and was very cold last night and raining.

I've gotten 1 egg a day since Monday. Today we never our younger brood in with our older flock. I Wonder if that'll stress them out and I don't get eggs for a few days

I have 5 girls, 23 week old EasterEgger and Wyandotte mixes. I'm seeing more red in the faces the last week or two. No squatting or egg songs that I can tell (I'm a new chicken keeper so not entirely sure). I was really hoping to have eggs by now. Our days are starting to get short up here (I'm in Alaska) and most people add lighting to their coops or they don't get eggs. Just got some lights put up today. Hope that helps.

I still only have had one egg so far. That was three days ago! Today there was a bunch of noise in the coop but I checked at 1;30 and still nothing. Rocky the rooster has been crowing non stop. I was tempted to let them out early but I usually free range them at 3:30 whenI bring the pups in.Hearing dogs barking and a rooster crowing is more than I can take. LOL.
