No more waiting on my Buff Orpington. Got my first egg today. I could tell she was getting close. I actually guessed one right. She made two attempts today and laid one on the second try.. It was the largest first egg I have had so far from any of my chickens, an actual large egg. Yayyyy!!

... It is so exciting to see this. Those area some Beautiful eggs.... My older girls are slowing down but that is okay with me. Still getting about 3 to 6 a day. My 7 babies are only 16 weeks old so I should still have a wait on them.

I have to correct my self... we got 2 first eggs yesterday! I still suspect the 28 week old chantecler pullet and now also the 2013 hen. Her breeder/previous owner sold her to me as she was broody. Once she wasn't broody she went into molt and now she is back to laying!!

I was so happy yesterday! The white egg is a store bought large egg for size comparison. Store bought is rounder, but mine are longer. I am thinking the egg in the bottom (which is smaller) belongs to the pullet.

They were laid on top of the nest boxes, close enough!?

I love the different colors and shapes that we all get from our girls eggs. Even the same chicken will lay a slight verity her eggs. Though my bullet shaped ones are normally from my Matilda
My girls started with small eggs and went up to sizes I didn't know was out there. Love this....

I've been getting 2 eggs a day for the last week but yesterday I got only one, 2 days ago I get a large egg but no more, dont know why because nothing has changed
