I went out early this morning to let them out of the coop and all four started walking down the ramp and the two in the back stopped dead in thier tracks. The two in the front walked out of the run, stood there, and within 30 seconds, all four of them were back in the coop where they have remained for the past 2.5 hours. Unfortunately for them they live in Minnesota so they may not exit the coop until May.

I know.. some of them are such wimps with the snow. I had to shovel an area and put down hay for them to come out last winter. Not looking forward to it at all!

I was so surprised this afternoon!!!.....I was closing up earlier than usual because we were going out so I wanted them closed up before we left. as I passed by one of my RSL's......she squatted for me!!! Going to count the days now till our due date` LOLOL Have 2 others that I got at the same time......Time is really going to come. Since mine get names when they are getting ready to lay or have layed....This one is RUBY !!!!!

Its fun when they start showing obvious signs...I got my 1st egg within days of my hen squatting for me the 1st time. Hope Ruby gives you an egg soon.
 
My daughter was here when I was tending the chickens and thinks I'm an absolute dork on how excited I got when Liza squatted as I walked by her. LOL That was 3 days ago. Still waiting

Just have the one girl out of 8 laying... Love the excitement! Now if the

one would just lay in the nest, makes her lil nest by the roost

I'm a 6'4 200 pound guy and I acted like a kid a Christmas when mine started squating so if you're a dork, I'm an even bigger dork! My hens squated for almost 3 weeks before laying.

I have one BR pullet - started with three and gave two to my friend. Now my Opal appears depressed. She stays in the nesting box mist of day. Comes out to eat. She hadn't laid an egg and it gas been almost a week. She was the head pullet and very loud. Now she is quiet. She did have an altercation with a mean crow the day after I gave her friends away. Is she lonely? It having trouble laying? Or sick? She is a about 6 months old.
