Yes! That's what I'm talking about! The tall helix one is cool, but my cats would knock it down in about 5 minutes. Let me know if you find any more.

Everything is basically back to normal here. The bridge opened. BF came home. The river dropped and the dusting of snow is beautiful, although most of it blew away in the wind gusts and bitter cold. Coop and yard are still a mess, but we can't do anything about that until it thaws. A lot of roads are still closed due to mudslides and fallen trees, but none that I use often. Not everyone was so lucky, so we are thankful. The chickens seem fine too. I even had my first 3 egg day!

Brooster I am glad you are all OK. I was worried about you. That pic is beautiful... it is always so amazing how beautiful nature can be but dangerous as well.

I thought about getting an Egg Skelter too but I really like my eggs and I know that between my two boys and my hubby the eggs would get broken before we got to use them.

What's everyone's egg count for the month??? Mine is 23! I got 2 eggs per day for 3 days this month. Wooo HOooo.

It's really eating at me that I didn't go back to Wilco and ask for another coupon card and get another 100# of feed. oh well I am sure this isn't the only time they will have this coupon. lol

Oh, good idea nakstk, you reminded me to do that. I had 135 eggs from my 8 girls,, one holdout still. I had only one day with 8, about 9, 7egg days, then the rest varied between 4,5 and 6 since they all began. Some of my eggs are still rather small, measuring small on the egg scale. Most of them are medium/large, and then I have two hens who lay extra large eggs. I am frustrated to tell you, I still only know who lays 3 of the eggs. My RIR's are the ones who lay the extra large eggs. One of them gave me a Jumbo egg the other day and it had a double yolk inside!

Don't worry about that other bag of feed, I am sure they will run it again.

I'm still doing the egg cartons I had to get up and count when I read yours 2 of my girls started the 18th and Rosie has layed 13 out of 14 days, and stella has layed 10 So I'm at 23 too

Almost 2 dozen in half a month! Can't wait to see the count next month. I was couponing this am too! Got 21 rolls of bounty

paper towels and 10 mustard all for free! Woo who! Going back Saturday to get my Dawn soap. Someone beat me to them LOL So glad all is well with everyone and

Nakstk, 124 eggs this month! Pretty good since on the morning of Jan 12th I only had one hen laying and had a total of 10 eggs. The next 2.5 weeks produced 114! Seem to be getting 7 or 8 eggs everyday now, even without Lemon laying. Lemon still is acting fine, just not laying. My daughter drew a picture today of our rooster Pepper and her chicken Lemon. She made sure that she colored Lemon's comb bright red and she told me "I colored it that way because I think she is gonna lay tomorrow." I hope she does as well!

I can't wait to go egg hunting tomorrow!!!

debbie, I have a physical in two weeks, and I am petrified to see what my cholesterol reading will be! We have only gifted 3 dozen out,,, my husband has eaten maybe 2 dozen, kids have enjoyed eggs on the weekends, I have 3 at home, but I think the bulk of them I have eaten. I only have 18 eggs on the counter right now... YIKES! Oh wait, I did make lots of french toast for my sons sleep over last Saturday. But still,,it has not worn off yet, how delicious they are! I did read our fresh eggs have less cholesterol than store bought eggs, not to mention healthier. I think I have to start controlling myself.

I would love to get to the point where I put a sign out front and maybe sell some to the people who drive by. I think I would need a second flock though. I mean, even if I had 8 eggs a day, (more likely will be 6/7, that still wouldn't be enough to sell more than 2/3 dozen a week. I did get the girls for our personal enjoyment, and to share with friends and family. I am actively looking on Craigslist for a used shed to perhaps get some of those fantasy breeds I would like. I also want to get some color in the egg basket!
