Any one want to join me in waiting for eggs, posting and comparing notes?

Now that's more like it! That is a good amount of seeds, certainly they will reap the benifits! I look for them on the mark down shelf at my market, when they get very very soft. I have never tasted a papaya. I think I will give it a whirl next time. The seeds are supposed to have a slight peppery taste, and have are a natural dewormer. The peeps go nuts, and attack the seeds first, so apparently they must like them. Wait until the next time you feed one... they will remember!

to everyone who celebrates!

I gave them half today. They attacked the flesh first and now there's no trace of it anywhere, even eating the rind.

Happy Easter to everyone! Beautiful day! 2nd day detailing and packing up the motorhome :) Love this weather so much better! We are still 60 degrees at 6:30 pm

Okay I am getting "egg"cited again. My two red sex link's combs have gotten noticibly bigger and redder just in the last week. One of my black sex links has done the same and she has been checking out the nest boxes as well. I am getting way too impatient. I want more eggs already!! We are like Smeagol around here with the eggs our bantam gives us. I hoard them till I get enough so we can all have one. "My Precious....yum!"
Oh we also finally have a pecking order. Hermia(bantam) is the leader of the pack followed by the rooster Slo-fro, then the smaller red Leeloo, then the more mature black Camilla, the other red Amber, and lastly the biggest girl(black sex link) Phoebe. It's kinda funny that size has absolutely no bearing on who's the "boss of the apple sauce"

Help! Why did my flock suddenly stop laying? They did not lay much through the late fall, early winter. They started laying better at Christmas time and were laying 24-30 eggs a day until about 2 weeks ago. Now I'm lucky to get 2 per day. The weather is warming up, I havnt changed anything. I thought maybe the cold weather slowed them down, it wasn't THAT cold, weather is warm now. What happened?

A 3 egg day.... That means ....YES... my Amber (gold star) laid her first egg today. We went in to check on the birds and found the 2 blue eggs. I had an idea to always check under the turkey. And there it was... a little brown egg. It is small but I love it. She is 20 weeks and 3 days old. Next up... My two Cuckoo Marans.... have a wait on them. They are only 17 weeks.

Hmmm...well, I'm sort of a newbie probably not experience enough to advise you, but when mine started laying in late January when temps weren't so bad, then we had a long cold spell and they were inconsistent and soft shelled, etc. When the weather got a little warmer, they started being consistent until it got colder again. So, I almost believe a change in the weather affects them -- ?? I would imagine they will start again--?? How old are they.
