Any other zone 5b gardeners out there?

I would like to recommend trying the Farmers Almanac website. You can put your zip code in and they give you exact dates for seed starting everything, when to plant starts and direct sowing dates. It has spring and fall gardening dates also if you like to fall garden also.
Thank you!!! Thats such a great idea I didnt know they had that feature!

Definitely put some flowers out at your stand. Sunflowers are very popular. My mom and I (she worked as a florist for a bit) did just that and everything with sunflowers sold.

Yes, take photos of things you grow! It's fun to look back on the summer where it's warm and things are growing when it's cold, dark and wintry outside!
I have some irises some very pretty peonies forsythia clementis a ton of coneflower essentially things that were just already growing I plan to plant zinnias Dahlia's definitely sunflowers this year I think I put some pictures of the flowers I do have below

All my south facing windows are either over a kitchen sink or in a bathroom etc so I was worried about seed stsrting indoors since I dont have a ton of natural light inside so I bought one of these to put in my dining room for seed starting this year. Ill be curious to see if my yields are better than all my years of direct sowing

I use a very similar set of wire shelves for my seed starting and they do a great job of getting seeds to germinate and grow to the point they can be put out in May after hardening. I keep it in my office near a bay window with other plants I bring in for the winter.

Awesome that's great to hear!

Peonies are gorgeous! One of my favorite flowers (along with rose and tulip). I really want an old-fashioned English garden with more heirloom or antique type flowers.

The picture with the Rudbeckia and coneflower? is amazing! Look at all of those pollinators!

The strawberry is huge!

Took @Justagalwithchicks advice and got on the almanac website, if any other 5b folks want to "steal" my love of color coded lists and dont wanna go find all the different dates etc below is everything!

(For my color key I use the burpee silicone starter trays. The 1inch cells are trays of 32 and the 2 inch cells are trays of 16 and outside means direct sow and solo cups is solo cups haha)

Thank you! I can't take all the credit for those the previous owners did a really great job of establishing a lot of perennials so I mostly just fill in gaps so the cone flowers the peonies my tiger lilies a lot of that stuff was already here when I moved in in 2018. So Ive been doing a ton of veg/fruit but havent had to put much effort into my lovely flowers. This year is really the first one Ill intentionally put some flowers in!

Wow, you are so organized with your plantings! Hopefully the weather cooperates and you get a great harvest!
Thank you! I find doing this stuff at least helps my impatience a little bit to start everything haha

And yes totally sometimes we have snow straight through April so this entire thing may get pushed back a month but fingers crossed 🤞🤞

I ended up going through and changing the dates to group things a little bit better so I'm not planting on a bunch of random days to make my life a little easier haha so like all of the April ones I picked one weekend day in April all of the March ones I picked one weekend in March Etc.
