I don't think they'd be able to jump over that, so it should work as a home base though it'd be best to supervise at first.

Mine are outside which is a pain to run heated water bottles in winter but overall they’ve done well. We built a box that’s separated in the middle with a traditional wire rabbit hutch on each side and then put corrugated vinyl roof on top. They go outside to potty mostly and eat/drink but the box gives them shelter from wind and a rest from wire bottom.

Do they have any bedding? Also, you should really have them drinking from a water bowl.

They have more in there now and they’ve always been on bottles…..the current female is too wild to have a bowl. Her food and water has to be filled from outside the cage.

They really do like to hide in it though. And i clean it at least 2 times a week.

Twice a week?! You need to do it once a day.
