ANY STEEL WORKERS OUT THERE???

My husband is not a steel worker but in a union and he got laid off last Wed. and so did my sisters husband. We have hopes he will get another job soon.

My hubby works for US Steel in NW and the tin mill that he works at is more then likely running straight through till the end of the year. Straight through the holidays and everything. They are getting 24 hours of a week and thats it at this point. USS has been having to turn down tin orders because they can't keep up with the high demand even with how much they are putting out everyday. But the other two plants in that area that are part of USS are getting shutdown for two weeks at the end of the year and they are going to be on forced vacation so that if they have a weekfrom this year to spend they can use that otherwise their week vacation they will get in 09 is being used for the shhutdown.

In the auto industry it effects a lot of people..it just takes a lot of companies from the auto glass, steel, etc. to make a car from the frame out. I know this effects more than just our family. What is so hard about this is the short notice and no warning to get prepared. We will all be okay, I have learned to be positive through the years. Being negative just brings on depression. That is so hard on a soul/spirit. Everything will be alright. Times like this makes a person stronger. Just remember... and sad to say there is always some one worse off than we are. I hope the best for every ones family and remember have Faith.
