With only one thing in mind... Lots of brown eggs. I am interested in a new flock of about 75 new pullets for spring to supply eggs for Sparrow Ministries.

Any suggestions?

Isa Browns, they have layed the most eggs out of all breeds for me. Huge ones too

We have BSLs they are great layers. But i have 1 Golden comet She is a lot smaller than the BSLs and a real good layer. Next time I will get more GCs and less BSLs.

Any of the red or black sex links. That way you're sure of getting pullets.

I bought 6 Isa Brown pullets from the feed store on June 3rd of this year. They all started laying in the past month. I always thought that pullet eggs were small. These eggs are enormous. I am using recycled egg cartons from grocery store extra large and jumbo eggs, and some of these barely go down into the egg cups of the cartons.

There is always the production Rhode Island Red. Just know that you will probably only get 2~3 laying seasons out of them before going to freezer camp.

Black Australorps! Sweet, good layers, big brown eggs. I have 18 girls and average 16 eggs / day
