Any suggestions on how I can get two dogs from Missouri to SC?

If you supplied gas cards as incentive, there are probably volunteers willing to help. Puppy trains or transports are done all the time.

You map from Point A to Point B and then divide it up and look for people that can drive each section. Each section should be reasonable, like maybe an hour. Just check with shelters and rescues to see if they can help out.

I am not sure that a puppy rescues would be willing to help set up transport for pups that I paid money for, although I wish it was possible. They are already pretty busy trying to transport rescued dogs. I just don't know how I'd even start arranging a puppy train and honesly am not sure I'd feel comfortable putting my pups in the hands of a lot of strangers along the way. I would probably feel safer trusting them to a single pet hauler it's just that I can't figure out how to pick a pet hauler that I trust. This is getting so stressful. I did get a really good bid from a hauler that has good feedback, he's been a member of Uhaul only this year and all of his animal transports were good.

Shelters and rescues are not an appropriate source for transport help of a puppy being purchased. First off, they have enough to worry about with their own rescues. Second, 99.999% will refuse to help this situation. They will want the pups to be sp/neut first, etc and coming from or going to a rescue.
I had a dog that needed to be returned to me from Canada, and rescues wouldnt even help a dog come back to the breeder so that the owners wouldnt dump her at a shelter. I ended up paying almost $1000 to get her transported back.

Seriously - uship.com - you can screen transporters, I know lots of breeders who have gone this route and been happy. Lots of livestock transporters on here too, for that need as well.

Know any college kids?? I could see a friend and his/her buddy making that trip, up in a day, motel, down the next day. Gas money, motel for a night, and $100 for their efforts....???

Got it all worked out! I hired a shipper on Uship to transport them. I talked to the man on the phone and he sounds great. He raises and shows dogs himself so he is not just a transporter, he is a dog lover. I am doing the happy dance again! I'll have my two new pups next week! Thanks for the suggestions, everyone!
