It's going to be really hot this week in n.c. 97-98 degrees heat index 100- 105. They have a fan blowing on them, a tarp over there run and plenty of water with ice in it. We are lucky to live close to work so we can check on them at lunch time. Poor things are panting and holding there wings out some. We have frozen watermelon and blueberries for a treat at lunch.
Yup. I have one running in the henhouse.Anyone use fans for air circulation?
Definitely. My coop is insulated, but when the temps are in the 90’s and the humidity is outrageous, the fan creates a nice tunnel of cool air through the coop between the fan and the open door to the run.Anyone use fans for air circulation?
I hang frozen water bottles with a small hole so it drips for them I also make ice cubes with treats in them ( blue berries watermelon veggies) and spread them out for them to find, I also wet the area down at nigh and in the morning for them. I also put a big frozen gallon od water in front of fan as it blows on them.Your weather sounds exactly like ours but we also have lots of humidity. It' 95 to 101 here with index at 103 to 105.
