You can alsogoogle a JVC part site and put in the model number. Some part sites have threads on them where people post about the problem that they had and what it took to fix it. We were just recently given a fairly nice tv about as old as yours. When we were given the tv we were told that it would cost $250 to fix it,b/c the guy had checked on it and didnt want to deal with it, so he just bought a new tv instead. Low and behold someone on the part site posted with the exact problem that our tv had and he only had to replace the $70 part. I don't know if it will work out that way for you, b/c you may not have the same kind of tv, and the part that you need to replace may be more than the tv is worth, but if not it's worth a try!
Hope you get it worked out
