I'm new, as you have learned if you read my other post. I was wondering if there are any other newbies that would like to keep in contact for a while and share experiences with our new chickens and learn from eachothers mistakes, etc. I know it sounds strange but it would be nice to have a "buddy" to chat with about chickens (or even anything else haha )

Hi Bailey .. I Love this site and check it a lot .. I am not exactly Brand new To Chickens.. But I still Make Mistakes and Learned to many the Hard way before finding this site which makes it so much easier to research and ask questions and get them easily and quickly answered. My girls are 3 weeks old. 2 girls who might be EE's and 6 girls who are red sex links.
I'm so unsure about my coop, but can't get dh to strengthen it sigh.

I would. I am very new my chicks and I are just 4 weeks old. I grew up in a city but now live on 33 acres in the mountains doing what I always dreamed of doing..and can use any help offerred.....

Can I join the clutch? I've been on here a little while, but I was actually feeling a little lonesome...hardly anyone answers posts directly. I have only had my chickens a week even though I joined here last year...illness in the family. I wanted some girls for their looks before, but ended up with three gold sex links for their qualities and availability. I didnt feel up to hatching, or even caring for chicks in a brooder, so I got three five week olds.

I'm in Florida and no spring chicken! My DH is not the handyman! He helped me a little, but the run can be blamed on me! The coop is a repurposed dog house/hidey hole that I modified. i dont intend my run to be predator proof since I'm lucky to have a guardian dog (who knew the big clown who is terrified of loud noises would love his chickens!). The other dog does not see chickens, she sees snacks, so she has helped test the facility!

I have pictures posted on my profile album, but cant seem to figure out how to get posting them here in the forum to work...

Spikesowner how wonderful to have 33 acres in the mountains! Kiki lol bet you can spell I Can spell but for some reason when I type it sometimes comes out looking like chicken scratch!
